We’re bringing back our popular workshop led by Efe Çakır, focusing on electronic circuits, synthesizer design, and instrument building. A new class will be formed for this session. Participation is limited. The focus of the workshop is on building a 4-oscillator analog drone synthesizer from scratch.
The class will begin at 11:00 AM on Sunday, August 18 and will last approximately 5–6 hours.
All PCBs and electronic components of the synthesizer shown in the image will be fully provided and included in the workshop fee. You don’t need to bring anything with you — we’ll supply all necessary materials including soldering irons, solder, flux, speaker, and battery.
If you’ve done soldering a few times before, this course will be just right for you. At the end of the session, the synthesizer you’ve assembled will be yours to keep. At the beginning of the workshop, all components will be handed out along with schematics and notes about the instrument.
We’ll begin with introductory topics such as “What is electricity?”, “Basic knowledge about the components used”, and “How to read a schematic.” Then, step by step, we’ll go through each section of the synth, learning how it works — from "What is an oscillator?" to "What is a VCA?"
By the end of the session, we’ll be playing our synthesizers together.
